IHSA Western Semi-Finals, Sponsored by NRHA, Hosts and Locations Announced

The leadership of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) is pleased to announce the dates and hosts for the IHSA Western Semi-Finals, sponsored by the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). The three Western Semi-Finals will be held March 18-19, 2023.

Equestrian Fitness Academy is Now the Official Fitness and Wellness Program of the IHSA

The leadership of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) is pleased to announce that the Equestrian Fitness Academy (EFA) is now the “Official Fitness and Wellness Program of the IHSA.” IFA FIT produces the Equestrian Fitness Academy (EFA), a digital program specializing in health and wellness programs, to improve riders’ physical and mental states. The fitness program focuses on stability, suppleness, strength and stamina.

From IHSA to Miss Rodeo America- How the IHSA Shapes Futures

After providing the opportunity to ride and compete horses in college, the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) continued to impact lives on the national stage at the Miss Rodeo America pageant. As a college riding organization, the IHSA gives any student the opportunity to ride, whether they’re a brand new rider or they’ve ridden for years. The experiences and life lessons learned from riding with the IHSA carry into the students’ lives after college.

After years of hard work and dedication, Michael Golinowski earned top marks at the 2022 Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program (EAP) National Training Session. The National Session took place November 10-13, 2022 at the University of Findlay's James L. Child, Jr. English Equestrian Center in Findlay, Ohio.

Back on Track® USA is Now The Therapeutic Product Choice of the IHSA

Gladys, Va. – Oct. 13, 2022 –The leadership of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) announced that Back on Track®, makers of therapeutic products for people, pets and horses has penned a three-year agreement to sponsor the intercollegiate equestrian organization. Back on Track®, has been named “The Therapeutic Product Choice of the IHSA.” In addition, Back on Track® will hold title sponsorship of the coveted IHSA Western High-Point Rider Division.

IHSA TO OFFER USHJA OUTREACH CLASSES AT ZONES AND NATIONALS

GLADYS, Va. – Sept. 19, 2022 – The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) and longtime membership partner, the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), are pleased to debut a collaboration to benefit the membership. For the 2022/2023 season, IHSA Zone Championships and the 2023 IHSA National Championship Horse Show will be designated as USHJA Outreach Competitions.

AQHA HIGH-POINT RIDER AWARD PRESENTED ON FINAL DAY OF IHSA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HORSE SHOW

The Western teams shined on the final day of competition at the 2022 Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) National Championship Horse Show. The IHSA/American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) High-Point Rider Award and the NRHA/NSBA National Championship Team were announced to a cheering crowd.

USEF/Cacchione Cup competition culminated with the Penn State University junior Julianna Empie (Chester Springs, Pennsylvania) taking home the coveted championship title. Emory & Henry College defend their national championship taking home the 2022 Collegiate Cup.

Kelly Francfort Presented Lifetime Achievement Award

IHSA Vice President Kelly Francfort was awarded the IHSA Lifetime Achievement Award during the IHSA board meeting in January 2020. However, because there has been no postseason since 2019, Francfort had yet to be officially presented with the honor.
