40th IHSA National Championships Announce EquestrianCoach.com Achievement of Excellence Award

Fairfield, CT (February 27, 2013) - In conjunction with the 40th anniversary of America’s most prestigious college equestrian competition, organizers of the 2013 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships, May 2-5, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, are delighted to announce the debut of the EquestrianCoach.com Achievement of Excellence Award in both Open Hunter Seat and Open Reining Classes, sponsored byEquestrianCoach.com and Bernie Traurig, and offering star-studded internships with Missy Clark, coach of more than 35 equitation and hunter/jumper champions, and World Equestrian Games Reining Gold medalist, Tim McQuay.

IHSA to Celebrate 40 Years of America's Oldest and Largest Collegiate Equestrian National Championships

Fairfield, CT (April 26, 2013) – In 1973 there were no cell phones, home computers, smart cars or internet but there were a determined handful of college coaches and teams who met in good-natured competition for what became the first annual Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships. This May 2-5, the Equine Arena of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg will host the 40th celebration of what are now the oldest and largest collegiate equestrian national championships in America, bringing together more than two dozen teams and 400 individual riders who qualified through regional and zone finals for the privilege of competing as college riding's best of the best.

Mid-Atlantic Equitation Festival Pins High Score College Rider Award to George Mason University IHSA Rider Carley Ziegler

Carley Ziegler, who rides on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) hunter seat team for George Mason University of Fairfax, VA, earned the inaugural High Score College Rider Award at the Mid-Atlantic Equitation Festival and Country Life Holiday Shopping Expo, November 17-18, 2012, at Showplace Arena in Upper Marlboro, MD. The Festival is the first of its kind to offer Mid-Atlantic riders equitation finals similar to the New England Equitation Championships.

2012 IHSA National Championships: The Pinnacle of a College Career

IHSA Nationals in a nutshell: Mary Drueding's Saint Lawrence team won the Collegiate Cup making her the first hunter seat coach to win titles for two schools. Kels Bonham (SCAD) won the USEF/Cacchione Cup. The AQHA High Point Western Team was Oregon State coached by Dawn Ross; reserve was Ohio State. Coach Ollie Griffith’s son, Austin, was AQHA High Point Western Rider. Ohio’s Elisabeth Bianco was NRHA Open Reining Pattern Champion.
