FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Feb. 28, 2020 – The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) penned a multi-year agreement with Samshield, an innovative and popular equestrian brand. Samshield will be named “the official helmet and glove of the IHSA.”
“We are very pleased to have Samshield on board,” IHSA Executive Director Peter Cashman said. “Their high-quality helmets offer practical features and superb protection. Samshield is wonderful to work with and their representatives plan to visit with the teams to properly fit their members.”
It is no wonder that top equestrian athletes like McLain Ward, Georgina Bloomberg, Lucy Davis, Kelli Cruciotti and Lilli Keenan all choose Samshield as their preferred helmet. Samshield helmets were produced as the result of the rider’s needs, the designer’s creative energy and engineer’s technical vision. The Samshield philosophy is to always provide advanced products for safety, comfort, hygiene, material and finish quality. Samshield also offers the opportunity to customize your helmet for a personalized look.
Samshield’s state-of-the-art helmet technology offers phenomenal airflow and style. The helmets are made with a versatile material that is luxurious, fade-resistant, stain-resistant and waterproof. Removable/washable clip-system liner means that the helmet always stays fresh and clean. All helmets are **ASTM F1163-15/SEI certified.
To develop the Samshield gloves, riders were surveyed to determine improvements needed in current glove design. The results determined that the majority of those surveyed sought greater durability, breathability, grip, flexibility and thinness. With those features in mind, Samshield created a line of gloves unlike any before, constructed of multiple fabrics to provide the ultimate grip, stretch, fit and wear.
"We are so pleased to work with the IHSA," said Julien Lecomte, from Next One Equestrian LLC, the official Samshield North America Distributor. "The IHSA members represent the future of the sport in both the professional and amateur ranks. We look forward to outfitting the teams in Samshield helmets and gloves."
