FAIRFIELD, Conn – Sept. 11, 2020 – The National Horse Show, host of the coveted ASPCA Maclay National Championship and three other equitation finals, invites qualified members of IHSA to compete in the Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) National Horse Show (NHS) Adult Equitation Championship, held the first weekend of the show, which starts Oct. 23. Entries are due by 5 p.m. Sept. 18.

HOW TO QUALIFY
All entries must be members of the National Horse Show.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
IHSA members who compete in the IHSA Intermediate, Open or Cacchione Cup divisions, who have won a 3' Taylor Harris Insurance Services NHS Adult Medal or any 3’ adult equitation class or a 3'3" Medal or USEF Talent Search class or any equitation class at 3' or higher at a USEF sanctioned show are eligible to participate. The win(s) must have been accrued between Sept.1, 2019 and Aug. 31, 2020.

WHEN IS THE ENTRY DEADLINE?
Entries are due Friday, Sept. 18. Entries for qualified IHSA members are limited and are on a first-come-first-serve basis.

GET HELP TO SHOW
IHSA riders are required to provide their own horse and are responsible for all entry costs, fees and stalls. Financial help is available.

THE LEO CONROY EQUITATION GRANT
Leo Conroy, co-manager of the National Horse Show and Chairman of the ASPCA Maclay Finals, passed away in 2015. The National Horse Show has established the Leo Conroy Equitation Grant in his name. This grant will be awarded to up to five (5) riders from each of the three Equitation Championships at the National Horse Show: The ASPCA Maclay Finals, the Hamel Foundation NHS 3'3" Equitation Championship, and the Taylor Harris Insurance Services NHS Adult Equitation Championship. The grant will be awarded to riders who demonstrate a financial need to participate in their divisions at the National Horse Show. Riders must apply online by Sept. 30.
