Learn About IHSA at the AQHYA World Championship

Fairfield, CT—July 27, 2012--
The Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) booth has been taking summer in stride, bringing riders, coaches and intercollegiate equestrian team information to the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Western National Championships, in conjunction with the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Derby, June 26-30, in Oklahoma City before rolling back to OKC August 3-7 for the American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) World Championships.

“This is one of the largest youth horse shows in the world and the largest youth breed show in the world.  IHSA is the sponsor of the college fair this year and our goals there are to inform youth that already have a passion for showing about options that exist to show in college with the IHSA,” said Amanda J. Love-Ricketson, M.S., head coach of the West Texas A&M University women’s equestrian team and the organizational horsepower behind this IHSA booth, which will be manned by IHSA Zone 7 Region 2 representatives from WTAMU and Redlands Community College.

“This event is one of the largest recruiting opportunities for college equestrian teams as there will be over two thousand youth exhibitors during the week,” Love-Ricketson said.

The IHSA booth and the college fair are part of the week-long AQHYA Trade Show and exhibitors, young people and families can stop by the booth and learn more about IHSA opportunities.
